The only way you're going to love your home is if you love your home. I already loved my house before my sister moved into their new house and started sprucing it up. This just gave me the fever to pimp my crib too. I've had this splatter guard wallpaper since February. It was meant for the wall around my oven area, but this wall has been bothering me for a while with it's ugly Mason Bay Double paint color. Eventually I'll do something with that 70s counter, but in the meantime it stays. The microwave will find a new home somewhere else and the mugs .. I may go back to glass or something more neutral like two-tone brown. I love brown. It's warm, tranquil and cozy. I put that sticker on the bottom cupboard when I was 6. They're all over the house. Aunty Marva came home from golf one day with a roll of them and I put them e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e. Every time I look at them I'm reminded of my 6 year old moronic act. I also put them on windshields of cars that
Hub's was happy with her stuff. My Mum and her Christmas spirit gets worse every year. These lights have been up since Christmas 2012 and the Parental's keep adding to the splendor. Ma's house is just as bad ..
Christmas went off without a hitch. We had our traditional dessert night on Christmas Eve and everyone got sugared up with panipopo, panikeke and pani-Mitchy's-chocolate-croissants .. and Mum's trifle. Trifle is pretty gross, but this one wasn't too bad. The custard was omitted for yogurt and it worked better .. also, the sponge wasn't jammed. That's the most gross part. The Christmas Rat .. RIP Rat. Christmas Day. Our babies first Christmas. TyJay & Binny didn't give two hoots about it. Wrapped the night up with a visit to my Dad's .. who literally lives 2 minutes away. Merry Christmas Internets. I took my Christmas decor down last-night.
It's been 10 days since I last blogged. I thought I was going to die 3 times during those 10 days, once because of illness and twice because of my Mum's driving. I reluctantly went to Auckland last weekend to visit Sister. They got a new house (Merry Christmas to two mortgages). I should not have gone, my sick only got worse over the three days we were there and I tried to put on a brave face the whole time. I'd like to blame the 1 piece of chicken we waited 45 minutes for at Takanini KFC .. but I was a little bit sick before that. Sister's house is nice and big. More room, more bathrooms .. but you can still hear her kids from across the other side of the house and they still knock on the bathroom door and ask what you're doing and then wait for you despite the lock. I did not take photos .. that's how sick I was. It was miserable. The only photos I did get were from our trip home when I wasn't driving. I was so exhausted I let my Mum drive the Napier
