There are cliques here and I'm not a part of one. You see it at church when groups talk about events where it seems you weren't invited to. You see it on Facebook where groups are formed and you aren't a member. You see it when you miss the memo and raise your hand when no one else does.

Irritating, and it makes the place suck just a little bit more.

Which brings me to attachment. I have a strong connection with this place where I live, but often the people here take claim on the place as a possession. In the past this place has fed me, supported me and inspired me. This place doesn't belong to us, we belong to this place. If we keep it vigorous, it will preserve the circle of life on which we depend, but we don't because there are cliques.

We need to rediscover the need to nurture and be nurtured because this is what gives this place it's unique character. It takes time and effort, but by understanding and caring for each other we can choose between just having a place to live in with others, or belonging to a home with one common clique.
