Thanksgiving 2021
Big kudos to Nessa and Ellis who took care of everything this year. We had our own assignments and it all came together nicely.

Ended our day with a visit to the cemetery to visit the man of the day.

9 years.

I woke up at 4.11am this morning. It was around the same time 9 years ago that I received a phone call from the ICU at the hospital. The message was to come in, things weren't going too well.

Between home and the hospital is a distance of 10 minutes.

When I got to the hospital I pleaded to go through the emergency department to get to the ICU. They didn't allow it so I had to walk another 5 minutes, the long way round, to the ICU.

Sometime during those 15 minutes, Larry slipped away.

I was met at the secured door of the ICU by his nurse who hugged me before she told me he was gone. She walked me to his room where he just looked like he was sleeping.

I asked her to leave me alone and sat next to him. He was still warm. He was still warm two hours later when the undertakers came.

We celebrate Larry twice a year. On his birthday and when he died, which is Thanksgiving week. We remember him always. Our kids who came years after he died know him. He is a constant in our family conversations and is always on my mind.

9 years. We've adjusted to life without you, but you are much too loved to be forgotten.

Life is good

My washing machine broke after 13 years. Got a new one thanks to Afterpay. Managed to get the Christmas shopping done this week because I smell a lockdown of some sort. I've been jabbed. My house is now black and not orange and finally, I have a deck.
Thanksgiving next week. Here's a photo unload of shots since Halloween.

Happy Halloween 2021

Lockdown with kids is scary enough. It's been Halloween more than twice this year. Not gonna lie, we celebrated on the sabbath because it worked out better time wise. Nessa also captained the event this year and threw a party for her 4 nieces and nephews. It was great not manning the ship with Mitchy like we've always done. Being a real adult is over when you're kids are now adults!
It was a good time.
Hubs, Rome and Avi. I called Avi Luci all afternoon. I had to explain what it was short for and then we had a long conversation about el diablo.
She fit the description perfectly .. especially when she was losing the treasure hunt portion of the party.

Summer part 2

Nessa envisioned this shoot with my nephew Ellis. They pulled it all together very well. Hubs was supposed to be in it, but got stage fright...
