Lately ...

In 5 more weeks, term 3 of the school year will be over.
In 11 weeks, NZ Secondary School exams start.
In 15 weeks, the school year will be over.
In those 15 weeks are 2 weeks of holidays and 1 long weekend holiday for labour weekend.

I am looking forward to being away from work because it has been a hell-of-a-ride this year.

Shaily was 20 on the 9th of this month. We did not celebrate like we have done previously because ... she's a big girl and can throw her own party.

Hub's wanted to learn how to cook. She made $10 doing some gardening with Nan a few Saturdays ago and wanted to go to The Warehouse to buy herself ... a frying pan.

That was the night she learned how to scramble eggs.
I show her by doing it in my pan first.
She's pretty clever.

We poached eggs a few days later. I didn't get frying-pan-useage shots because she was freaking out about the yolk over cooking. The girl loves her runny yolk. It made me dry heave watching her sop it all up with her toast.

Tonight we stepped it up and got fancy.
Shrimp & spinach fettuccine.

She might love camarones more than I do.
And finally .. our boy.

Bought him a $2 gun.
Worst thing ever.
He lost 6 'pullets' in 2 minutes so now he sticks anything into the barrel.
Stones.
Q-Tips.
His tongue.
He shot his Mum twice and got in big trouble.
She'll be 26 on Saturday.

I opted out of the flu shot this year and have been sick all week with the flu. Don't know how I got through work today successfully. I feel like I'm about to die.

Week 32 of 2019

Mickey Mouse and his friends took me back to a life in California with my Love. It took me away from reality for an hour and 40 minutes and made me envy that Hub's doesn't know the reality of what's going on around her. I ended up dragging my Mum along with me to The Waikato and Nessa-Nu. They both came willingly. I'd travel with them anywhere. They're both comforting in their own way and make any trip complete.

It was a quick trip there and back. We left Wednesday morning and we were home by Thursday evening. Made a stop in Taupo on the way through.

Hard to believe she's going to be 9 next month.

We had front row tickets. Ness had a VIP ticket that was $44 less than the front row tickets. She sat RIGHT behind us. The people right up in the nose bleeder seats had the best seat in the house.

I've been educated. Don't get front row or VIP seats.

Life is picking up pace.
19 more Wednesdays til Christmas.
Work is my solace even though when I'm at work it's far from consolation, but is a good temporary relief from home.

I want to buy a comfortable arm chair so I can come home from work, sit down and read a good book before bedtime.

I want a simple life without distractions.
We create out own struggles.
I want to find joy in finding an armchair and not fixating on the current situation of others.

Challenge to myself before the end of the month.
Find an armchair.
