Kapahaka 2017.

Spent last week getting the school kapahaka costumes ready. I can proudly say I now know how to get the thread from the top of the sewing machine to the needle part at the bottom there. I managed to sew two dresses on the days my Mum didn't come and they didn't fall off the girls during their performance today.

Whispered some advice into Romes ear, which may or may not have included the F word, about not being shy and she felt lots better.

Hub's has been counting down the days to their performance since the beginning of the month. She was given a little part in there to get her roopu to prepare (Hope! Ki Raro). This is why she had a plume in her hair as opposed to just feathers.

Senior girls dress rehearsal this morning.

I don't remember if Rome took off her pink socks or not.

E-Papa.

Avi was just wondering what the hell was going on and why they all dressed like that.

Our Reid whanau.
Darrell and Leven doing their thing!

May I say .. am I glad that's over.
Last week of school before Term 3 holidays.
Temperature hit 26°C today.
Can you believe it's almost Christmas time.

Video will be up when it finished uploading.

Life via the iPhone

Recently upgraded to the iPhone 7 .. because I accidentally broke Tylers 6 and had to give her mine.
Love the camera on the 7.

Out op-shopping last week.

Stiddy boy.

Soaking up the sun yesterday after church.

AviVi. Excuse Honey Boo Boo in the back ..

6 months and 7 months old.

It wants to be an All Black when she's older.

Babies.

Her 'what the hell you doing?' look.

The boy and Indy-G. Sitting up like professionals!

He stalks me with his blue eyes.
He is going to break some hearts when he's older .. preferably when he's 30.

Tiki Tapu by Rob Ruha

Talks about the process of getting the tattoo on his face.
Simply amazing.

Tyler's dance company (Kahurangi) performed at the Maori Music Awards last Friday. It streamed live on YouTube that night and we sat down and watched it. I was a little confused at some parts and wondered why their routine wasn't used when I went to the dress rehearsal at the school not three days earlier .. also wondered why one of the girls holding the awards was working that night when I knew very well she was getting married in Hamilton the next day.

Turned out I spent 4 hours watching last years Maori Music Awards.
Last years performance. Tyler is on the left. Drops her pois a couple of times.

This years.
Ty in black with the batons.

A lil bit heart-broken today.

I'm not a dog person. I actually think dogs are gross, but Papa Greg's bulldog Winston grew on us all even though we didn't admit it. The idiot dog would chase our cars up the drive way snapping at our tyres. Somehow he'd always avoid getting run over.

The short version, Tyler ran him over on Saturday when he appeared out of no where and tried to get at her tyres.

After being diagnosed a broken back, Winston was put down today.

Gonna miss that stupid dog, but for the life of all the is good and healthy, no one buy Papa Greg a new animal.

I actually have tears in my eyes over this. Found my Hubs in the car crying her little eyeballs out as her Papa digged Winny's grave.

RIP Winnyballs.

Winstons view from his grave. The kids were having a competition who could throw the rock into the cow poop first.

We'll all be laughing about this come Christmas, I'm sure of it.

Key-Oh-Ra

He was just so excited to be here!

He's getting to big for his Aunty Hubs.

Hiding from potential visitors yesterday. Now you know where we hide when we can't pretend we're not home at home.

Signs of Spring.

Pretty Indy-G.

I just completed week 6 in my Te Reo class. It has given me a headache tonight. Some of the content needs more explanation. I'm not stupid, but this is how they explained where to use and where to use .

It can be used to describe all sorts of relationships, family and otherwise. The only down side is that you need to have to grip on whether something is in the ‘a’ or ‘o’ category before you start the sentence, as that determines whether you use nā or nō half way through! – If something is in the ‘a’ category, nā is the right word to use, if it’s in the ‘o’ category, use nō.

Now if that didn't leave you thinking W-in-the-sweet-F does that mean .. then I'm dumber than I thought. I thought it was like Spanish representing gender, but no ... I don't know how it works to even tell you.

Needless to say .. I got a 6/11 in tonight's Wero Hinengaro.
At this rate .. I'll never be a Maori.

Sept 11 - NZ Time.

I did not forget what today was 8 years ago.
I miss you every day and always.

My favorite boy came to ease today.

Saturday.

How bout that All Blacks game. I was cheering for both teams and Hubs asked why. I told her Larry served a mission in Argentina. She asked me why I hadn't told her that before. From that we came up with an Argentina foods night in our house. I don't know when it's going to be, but she's excited for Argentine food.

It was a boring evening up until the All Blacks game. I need to stop swearing at the All Blacks whenever they do something wrong. One day Hub's is going to repeat it at the worst time possible. I watched a car case in Los Angeles on Mobdro. I watched it for 2 hours and just as they were going in to do the final PIT maneuver, the chopper broadcasting had to turn around and re-fuel and everyone watching missed it.
Thanks CBS Los Angeles.

Big boy is sitting up all by himself now.

Also reaching for everything and anything.

His mother still hasn't grown up.

.. and his Aunty is cray.

Church tomorrow.
Revelation put me back in the primary after not even a year. I'm OK with the primary though. They're more fun than teenagers and it's a different kind of drive-you-nuts.

Cross Country.

Cross Country at the school this morning.

Hub's came 3rd in her group.

Not sure where Rome came, but she said she almost died from running.

Ngawi sat it out this year, but we took a pretend photo.

Then we paid a quick visit to the cemetery.
