Just when you think everything is going fine, something happens that brings everything back to mind.
Ngawi fractured his arm/elbow today falling from the top step at our house. We're in the hospital now and I'm sitting at the end of a long hallway. At the other end of the hallway is the ICU and I cant take my eyes off its entrance doors. The walk through those halls that morning was the longest walk I've ever had to take.
I saw our nurse Gina in the ED. She gave me a huge hug and offered her condolences and apologies for not making the funeral.
I get that there will be reminders for the rest of my life. Won't change how much they'll suck each time they come.
