Over done, near burned.

Time truly does suck. Now throw in a tube complication and the flu and you'll find yourself the sole occupant in Igiveupville.

Waiting for evidence for the appeals tribunal.
Specialist is on holiday.
Sick.
The tube inside his peritoneum cavity has shifted and causing a slow outflow. Found this out when the cycler beeped ALL NIGHT a few nights ago.
He hasn't had proper dialysis for 3 days now.
The Renal Nurse suspects it's a intestinal blockage situation.
Laxing him up has done diddly squat.
We need to go to our GP and get a Supine Axr and Lateral Pelvis, which is I'm guessing an X-Ray.
If it's not fixed by tomorrow we have to 'present ourselves to Hastings hospital' for an catheter manipulation. They love us there.

So things are pretty effed up right now.

Limited Visa

In the mail today came a letter from INZ granting Larry a limited visa based on our extenuating circumstances, I have till July 8th to send back his passport and get it stamped with the limited visa, which is valid until September 24th, 2011.

Awesome, going by his dialysis fluids, or lack there of, September 24th doesn't matter because he has enough dialysis for 30 days and it's $5000 a month and I did not win the lotto tonight.

His eye is giving him grief.
The whole ordeal has put a dampener on our marriage.

We also got an email from our appeal case manager to ask for more evidence, more so they'd like to see his income when he arrived and what he gets monthly from SSA. I wish they could understand that if they just didn't break his eyes, he would be generating something more substantial that most here in The Bay.

I once heard that God only gives us as much as we can handle and that he'll push us to the very limits before he'll let us fall safely into his hands.

Catch me. Please.

The Bake Off

Soooo ... what a day.
Who knew baking would be the reason for neglecting your kids and husband?
I'll get right to it.

Michelle made Truffles.

She also made a New York style cheesecake.

I made a triple chocolate brownie with german chocolate frosting, served in a shot glass.

I also made red velvet mini cupcakes with raspberry buttercream frosting (and a chocolate button on top).

Furness made Mars Bar Slices.

She also made plum mousse.

It was a stressful day.

Our judges were fantastic.
There is a reason I put them in that order.
That's the order by which we placed, except - Michelle and I were even .. much to my sisters dismay.
She's a winner in her husbands eyes (and maybe on some other planet).

Local MP

I knew we should have cancelled, but Larry insisted.

Friday we went to the local National MP's (Republican equivalent) office.
When our Doctor told us the Wednesday before that she had received a call from the Immigration & Protection Tribunal, I wanted to back out of the visit to the MP and my instincts told me not to go because the reason we were going was to get a push along with the appeal and we got it via our Doctor.

They want us gone. Family, home, who cares - they want us gone. When I asked, "Do you think it's right to kick a citizen out of their own country?", I received the reply, "It's too much money".

My feeling is not to back down.
My feeling is to not go anywhere.
My feeling is to stay here and fight it because it's my right.

Our Labour MP (Democrat equivalent) is fully behind us.

I knew we should have cancelled.

The Blisters Bake-Off

It's ON.

My sister comes down on Saturday.
On Monday for FHE we're having a bake-off.
Me, her and our sister-in-law Michelle.
We have 2 baked items to make, as the image shows, one child friendly and the other adult friendly.
We have two neutral judges.
Michelle neglected her children today thinking about what she was baking.
My sister rang me all day yesterday trying to get information out of me.
I had my two items in the bag when we agreed to a bake-off.
I'll show you my gold medal on Monday night.

The Appeal .. Part 2.

Our appeal has been prioritized.
Our Doctor, she's awesome.

Mid June.

Yesterday morning I emailed the local National MP for Hawkes Bay. We'd met with his secretary before, who gave us some advice when we were going through NZ Residency. I emailed him and gave him the same brief I gave to the Tribunal and got an email back yesterday afternoon asking if we had time to meet at his office today to discuss some options.

Our appointment is at 4pm and I'm not sure what to expect. I've been reading through alot of political propaganda lately and I landed at the NZ National Anthem.

The 4th verse reads:

Let our love for Thee increase,
May Thy blessings never cease,
Give us plenty, give us peace,
God defend our Free Land.

My husband is a blessing. Being home with my family, who too have taken on my burden, is a blessing. Being comfortable in a home with everything we will ever need is a blessing. Our peace and plenty is right here .. in a country that claims it's free.

NZ is not ethical.
NZ is not humanitarian.
NZ, for a Citizen, is definitely not free.

As I watch the National Party slowly make a mess of my country, not much is impressing me right now as a citizen and it's hard to find faith in that alone.

I need La Vida Buena.

Monday & Tuesday

Goodbye Honda Civic.

It didn't look too bad, but it was damage city under the hood.

When you sit next to your bumper, there's definitely something up.

Hello Bebe!

We're having a Bake Off next Monday.
More on that later.

Lightwave on Big Screen.

What can McGyver do with 6 wall tacks, a yellow California king flat sheet and a projector?
Not heal the blind ..

I had a brilliant idea this afternoon and it failed miserably.
That's LW3D up there on the curtain/sheet/bedroom wall. All 62 inches of it.

Fasting.

The concept of fasting is to abstain from food for a period of time, voluntarily. I've learned that combined with prayer, fasting can strengthen us and bring us blessings we may stand in need of.

Today at church they encouraged members of our ward to fast for us and I really do appreciate that. It's something we hadn't done yet as a whole with the members at church, but something we need.

We're about a month away from dialysis running out and we have no idea whether or not the appeal will be expedited after our GP sent in a letter explaining reasons as to why it should be considered for a speedy decision and a positive decision.

And this is why we fast and pay offerings for fasting.
Whatever the outcome, it's worth it.

Just another Saturday

Rome found the mascara.

Then she put nappysan (Laundry detergent) in Papa Gregs fish pond, so it had to be emptied.
No fish were hurt during the crisis.

Double down at KFC ends this week.
Had to try it.
Atkins friendly, other diets not so much.

Shai locked herself in the car to eat KFC.

Midnight Snack

Crayfish halves were on special today.
Not $5 per half special, but special compared to the usual.
It's because it was the end of the week around closing time.

There's an appetizer popular at most Sushi Restaurants, Baked Green Mussel.
Baked Crayfish is similar, using the same sauce and baking method.
Muy Bien.

Griffins Plug

Who would've thought? A mellow puff with a toffee pop?

Better than double stuffed chocolate covered Oreos.

Cutest girl in Hawkes Bay.

Carlos.

TGIF

Yesterday our Doctor faxed a letter of urgency for our appeal application to the tribunal. I hope it helps. She mentioned tangata whenua, "people of the land", something I wasn't brave enough to say because it will only do two things. 1. Scare them or 2. Piss them off.

Some people forget about tangata tiriti, people (non-indigenous to NZ) who are here by vitrue of the treaty who are not tangata whenua. It's my right as a Maori to be here, live here, and remain here with whomever I want.

Again, hard to be optimistic about anything right now.

PS. Commenting is on.

Cornbread Feijoa & White Chocolate something.

My sister kept telling me about her feijoa & white chocolate crumble. Of course I had to one up her and do a corn bread feijoa & white chocolate crumble, but its not crumble per se.

It was a quick effort. I was making corn bread to go with chili tonight and there were no muffin pans left for the left over dough. I took the mini springform, added a bottle of perserved feijoas and dumped a handful of white chocolate on top.

Baked it for 10 minutes (after baking the corn bread half done).
It was delicious.
White chocolate melts fast and melts funny, unlike normal chocolate.
Just watch it when you use white chocolate. I have no other tips.
PS: I didn't use enough white chocolate chips.

7 Days

Carlos in her new onesies.

Shai doesn't know the difference between 3 minutes and 13 minutes. We got to the microwave just in time (1:45 seconds left). The bag was on fire.

Carlos!

Feijoa cornbread with white chocolate

Cornbread.
Like my clean oven? Me too.
I've been trying to pay people to clean it for 2 years.

Pizza for 5 naughty kids. (FHE)

Rome got her ears pulled for being naughty, hid away and fell asleep outside of the bathroom.

I need a break.
