Low Blood Pressure

Amlodophine lowers blood pressure. He was taking 10mg for hypertension. The last specialist appointment we had in December the doc discussed weening him off of this drug, Not to shock his system, the ween began with taking two 5mg dosages a day afterwhich one would be stopped and he'd only have one per day.

We were still at the two 5mgs per day. His blood pressure was critically low a few days ago and I called the specialist who stopped the amlodophine, period. We've experiences some biological drama, which we were told to expect - by stopping mid-ween, but this is ok. His blood pressure is back to normal.

The low pressure has been caused by a combination of medication, fluid removal from dialysis and the heat.
